Maybe lame but I think it would be fun. I'll cancel it if I don't get much participation.

So what we are going to do is make a full (data) CD or two of music for a random R&Mer. What this means is you'll be putting mp3s on the CD instead of audio so you can fit more than one album on a CD. Ideally put on some awesome albums you think they won't have/know of or whatever. Genre does not have to be R&M based and it is encouraged to send as many different styles as you want to.

All you need to do is send an email to me at zeppelinfan2k3(at)gmail.com with your mx name, and address (use whatever name you want it sent to) and I will send you an address once everyone has registered and then all you have to do is send them a CD. Also let me know if you want someone in your country only, I realize international postage can be expensive.

Deadline to join is December 1.

I wouldn't restrict it to R&M music by any means. I'm more interested in maybe getting some non-R&M music myself. I'll probably have some Rap and Latin music on my CDs, for instance.

You can but I think most people here are eclectic listeners and hopefully people will try to create an eclectic mix of music for people. But you can certainly include it if you want and I'll send it out with your address to your SS.

I'm guessing rar/zip archives.

Otherwise the tags are not burned with the files and that creates more work for the person on the other end as essentially they have an unknown audio disc that they then have to rip and tag.

Not to mention burning lossy files to an audio disc then reripping them creates a loss of sound quality.

Takes about 12-15 business days for a parcel, usually. Letters are about 7-10.

You'd have to give people about a week to get organised, in terms of burning the CD and sending it also.

So I think it'd be best to finalise it around Dec 1, at the latest.
