Jimi Hendrix had one of the biggest impact in music and I love him, I used to just get into his music so much when I was younger I cant really explain but this guy is one of the greatest rock guitarists ever and one of the coolest guitarists ever.

I hate when someone say's a guitarist is better than another, it's all art, it shouldn't matter.

Thats true. But art that has well established niches will forever be a point of reference and comparison. Jimi was a good advocate of freedom and LSD use, too bad he had to go and ruin the latter by overdosing on barbiturates (a malicious drug in comparison)

Hendrix isn't bad, hes just overblown.

I think he's kinda overated but I dont pay attention to mainstream radio play and stuff like that, he's still always gonna be great. I bet if he was a fat mexican he wouldn't of been nearly as popular.:p

It was really more the attitude and how he played the guitar is what he is notable for. As far a skill goes he is a good player but by no means the best. I do dig some Jimi every once and while.
