What does everyone think of Maynard's early work in this group?

I've looked it up and it looks interesting, but I doubt I will be able to find any material.

Yea, I've never heard anything from that band. It would definitely be really interesting to see what kind of work Maynard was doing back then, but I don't know anybody that's been able to get their hands on COTAD stuff. Although I'm assuming he didn't dress in women's clothing back then, ha.

I've got their whole album on Soulseek if you guys want to download it. You can tell it's where he starts experimenting with the Tool sound. Pretty weird though. Let me know if you're keen.

I thought the name sounded familiar...

yeah, I don't think I have heard much of it, maybe a stray track here and there before.

It's a shame, I think Maynard gets a huge amount of credit for Tool as a whole. I suppose its the whole lead singer phenomena. I personally would like to see what Adam Jones was doing musically before Tool formed. He seems to be the one with the strongest 'artistic' members of the band..

I would be interested in hearing the early Maynard tracks as well though.

Jones has done some cameo type stuff with The Melvins if you want to hear him outside of Tool.

Ive seen some of their old videos, and the band seems pretty lame. One of their songs is an early version of Sober, but its faster. Ill post the link to the video if I can find it.

The "divorced" track right? I have heard that, but not any other stuff.

Now that I think of it, he was on a few tracks on the Melvins/ Jello Biafra collaboration album too, but nothing more than very background guitar.
