Most of Pantera's offshoots are better than Pantera.
Well, that's a lie, but Down is.

Because Down is something completely different than Pantera.
Both are great in their own way

Rex Rocket?
One of my all time favourites, their glam stuff was mostly poop but Cowboys From Hell onwards was pretty tight.

Down is good but very different from Pantera. I like Pantera more.

Ugh Superjoint Ritual is terrible. I saw them at Ozzfest and Phil was such a dick onstage. I do enjoy Down a lot.

I used to love Pantera and listen to them a lot. I don't if it's because I grew out of them or because I listened to them to death or because I started listening to a lot more music, but either way I just don't listen to them much anymore. Occasionally they'll get a spin or two. Dime was awesome though. I really like his tone and he had some monster riffs.

Do I need any more Pantera albums other than the 3 that I already have?

Depends which 3, I would say Cowboys From Hell & Vulgar Display Of Power are the two truly essential ****ers. Everything after is patchy but has moments of awesomeness, you could try the glam stuff but it's pretty cack.

Far Beyond Driven is a must in my book. I love Trendkill. Vulgar has been over played to me.

I Love Cowboys From Hell. Probably the only album I can listen the whole way through.
Rex's Bass lines are Kick *** in CFH, hes pulls of the groove metal style very well.
I dont listen to to much down how are his bass lines in that?

i like cowboys and vulgar, and some of southern trendkill but everything else kinda blows imo.

I went back the other day and listened to Cowboys from Hell, and tbh Phil's vocals, especially on Shattered (a song I used to love) really annoyed me.
