I have never seen a thread on Decapitated in R&M, and it's a shame that this is the 1st (at least according to search), but I just recieved news that Vitek was killed in a car accident while on tour in Russia. Apparently their tour bus collided with a truck carrying wood, and Covan and Vitek both sustained pretty serious head injuries. Vitek died on the way to the hospital while Covan is still recovering. Decapitated are one of my favorite bands, and this is so unexpected, I don't know what to say.

Yeah I heard about that yesterday. It is really such a tragedy. Not just as musicians, but as people I have only heard good things praised about the type of guys they are...and for them to have to go through such a tragic loss must be really tough.

Yeah I just read this somewhere else. They ****ing drilled a hole in his head to relieve pressure on the brain, but he stil ended up dying. :(

It's a shame. It's something no touring musician deserves. Apparently he was a really friendly, down to earth guy as well, which just makes it worse.

Well are quite a few accidents with musicians and tour buses.

Decapitated are a great band and this quite shame considering his age as well.

He also seemed to be a very nice guy.

A great death metal drummer indeed. Winds of Creation is legendary, especially if the drums really were recorded at his age of 15.

I still can't believe this happened. I'm waiting for them to post a message saying it was all a joke or something. I've never been so affected by a musician's death before.
