I have a project for my AP Psych. class and I've decided to study gaming. I can't tell you the specifics of the experiment as to not compromise the integrity of your responses. I will post my write up once it is done so you guys can see what was up.
If you could take 10 seconds to fill out my survey that would be amazing (rep++ and such for all!).

Done, but these two questions were kinda weird
How excited are you when progressing in a game?
How important to you is the ability to progress in a game (i.e. get new loot, down new bosses, etc…)?
How can I not be excited about progressing in a game?

How can I not be excited about progressing in a game?Fair question. I was trying to gage how prevalent was the element of excitement (meaning, if it was the same thing again and again, would you play it (i.e. solitaire on windows)). I know a lot of people that do not care for progression and advancement in games as long as they are having fun at the moment.
Once again, thanks everyone for your time, I've been getting alot of results. :)

From the look of your questions it would appear you may be doing some kind of study on MMORPG's like WOW for example.

done. but i only play Warcraft 3 and sports games so most of those questions didn't really apply to me, i felt.
most of those questions seemed to be aimed at MMORPG players.

Some games I'm like that. I can skate around in skate for a while without caring about challenges, or I can mess around on GTA without doing anything in the game. I guess it depends on what kind of game it is, but for the most part, I like getting progression through the game out of the way before I start messing around and having fun.

I completed the survey, as asked in the WoW Thread.
Some of the questions were a bit up in the air for me, but I answered them as best as I could. There should probably be more platforms in which people can choose from, though. I do realise that in the WoW Thread you said it was mostly based on people who play WoW, but you said it was a study on video games, in general I was assuming. :p

Not including sports was a big blunder, sorry :(
Thanks once again to all those who took it. I won't be doing the actual write up until next weekend (we got an extension), but I will present the results and what I have extracted from them sometime between now and Sunday.

I was kind of taken back by it for a moment because of its deep yellow font and bold lettering, but recently I have come to accept and embrace its golden love.

Once again, thanks to everyone for participating. Overall, I had a pool of 80 surveys to work with. I believe I gave everyone rep., bitch at me if I have not.
As promised, here is my write-up:

I'd love to hear your reactions. The results were mildly surprising, as I sort of assumed that that is what I would see.
