Do you remember the boy who used to etch his name on the gates of Mr. Hearl?
Now he’s a flustered, forceful man, who likes to think he’s here to change the world
If he is going to have a bit, he simply must have everything
Well, I pray to God each night those kinds of people
Wind up with not a thing

Napoleon is dead and gone; his age has washed beneath us like thin sleet
The pioneers have built their countries strong, and now desire only sleep
But some still try their damnedest to excite the fists of fellow men
Well, I pray to God each night those kinds of people
Never have a friend

They nag so much for power that it’s handed their way with a sigh
They won their first student elections, though they were openly despised
They’re so petty and so hateful it sometimes just seems best to let them be
So often I’m afraid, those kinds of people
Rule over you and me

Do you remember that young man who someone once suggested was a queer?
Well, he’s been plastered on the pavement, and everyone was far too scared to care
Saluting those who when they stick their faces in just have to gobble up it all
Well, sooner or later they’ll swallow you to; those kinds of people
Stay hungry till their fall
