I'm not really one for making threads, but I've never seen a Star Trek thread in here so I figured I'd make one.

Recently I picked up the Borg DVD box set which I must say is pretty awesome. Not only are the Borg probably the best enemy in the Star Trek universe, the box set has every Borg related episode worth watching in it. Its also interesting to see how the Borg develop over time from the TNG episodes to the Voyager ones.

So..is anyone else a Star Trek fan?

Not a fan of Star Trek. I always thought the technology, aliens, and everything else, was less impressive than the Star Wars stuff.

Sure, the two franchises aren't really comparable, but Star Wars for me (Star Trek is meant to be more realistic, right?).

Well, actually, I've just never had the chance to get myself into the series. I don't think I ever saw the series with Picard and Data and co...

I've been thinking about trying to find copies of the Elite Force games, I remember playing a demo of one of them once which was pretty cool. I remember playing the pc version of Starfleet Accademy and Armada alot when I was younger. Good times.

Whats the latest on the new film they're making? Last I heard it was going to involve Kirk and Spock :-|

The original series is cheesy and dated but I still enjoy watching it.

It is cheesy and dated in an awesome way though.

Voyager was ****. Real ****. Most people agree, it was the worst Star Trek series.

TNG is pretty cool, the original was cheezily cool. DS9 was just a B5 rip-off, Enterprise had untapped potential but failed. Voyager was just ****.

Some of the movies really rocked though. Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country, and First Contact are some of the best films ever made.

I remember watching TNG when I was really little, then watching Voyager when I was a little older. I liked Voyager but I think it's because I was young and Tom Paris was badass.

I watch episodes of Voyager every now and then and I can completely see why so many people say it's the worst version. I remember the last few episodes were pretty awesome though, when they escaped the Borg and got back to Earth.

I agree Enterprise could have been pretty cool, but it didn't work out.

Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise.

Exactly!

Which is why there needs to be a new series that involves a ship with that name.

Simon Pegg sounds great. The choice for Sulu does not. Some of seem too young for the parts.

it's a prequel, they're suppose to all be young

EDIT: The Romulans travel back in time. The Romulans then figure out where they are in the timeline, then decide to take advantage of the accident to kill Kirk's father, to erase kirk from the timeline before he existed, thereby changing all of the TREK universe as a result. Thus SOMEHOW leaving Spock in a position to change that incident back, and then in a position to guard that timeline and make sure things happen the way they're supposed to

I, for one, love Voyager.

Mostly in part because it was so bad, and so easy to make fun of that it was actually enjoyable. That celibate old hag of a captain, her inimitable bun-of-steel, and the blatant Janeway/Seven subtext just warms my soul.

I enjoy TNG too, and I occasionally watch TOS.

I really don't like Enterprise, but I've seen five or six episodes.

Wow! Simon Pegg as Scotty? Sweet!

And Slyar from Heros is Spock. Good choice I think.
