I'm not going to buy dual 8800GTX cards and a x6800 core2 duo or anything, but I still want to upgrade. I have a 6600GT and athlon 3700 which in all honesty is still doing me fine, but I'd like to run some games at higher settings since the price of better hardware is a lot cheaper.
I'm looking at upgrading to an athlon 6000 and 7600GT card which I will run sli if the 7600GT comes down to 100$ which it will very soon. The thing is maybe I want to just get an athlon 6000 and wait a few months to buy 2x7600GT cards. My question is will the 6600GT bottleneck be so hard that I don't really get any extra frames per second? The main game would be Counter Strike: Source which I should burn, but I keep coming back to it. :(
