Right now I believe the Japanese are experiencing a musical renaissance akin to that of the American music industry throughout the sixties and seventies, yet aided by a vaster rage of influences and technologies.

This apparent flair for new musical directions has given birth to some truly unbelievable bands.

I'm always blown away by the fact it seems every new japanese band i hear is better than the last...My favourites at the moment would have to be Melt-Banana, Ruins and Boredoms. Boris, Hakaima Sadamitsu and Mono are freaking awesome too.

Anyone else dig these awesome sounds from the east?

You do realise pixiesfanyo has a thread about the same stuff 10 topics down the page?

Anyway, I have a few albums from the bands you're talking about and I like them.
