starting at synth

hey, looking for some advice. I've just got my hands on a old Roland Juno 6 synth as a trade for some drums I don't use much anymore.

Anyway, back to the point. I've decided that since I have it I may as well learn to play it. I played drums for about 4 years and also bass ( my primary instrument funnily enough :P) for roughly the same so I have a basic background in music but I'm looking for a book so I can start from the start - I'm avoiding thinking I can cut corners.

Is there any books that you guys/gals can recommend? Please don't say I should get a tutor as I just don't have the time or finances to get one.

Maybe get a college level piano exercise book or a theory one and just kind of go at your own pace. I know the piano book I had to buy for the class was really cheap so I can't imagine it'd be a burden financially.
