oh I see.
for starters, my top 5 films right now are:
Dark City (sci fi/noir)
21 Grams (you've seen)
Titus (a film adaption of one of Shakespeare's lesser works, it is set in ancient Rome with modern embellishments such as guns, cars, pool tables, etc. A weird film, but utterly engrossing)
Delicatessen (a great French black comedy, Jean Pierre Jeunet is one of my favorite directors)
Clerks (if you haven't seen this, I insist you do. Kevin Smith is brilliant)
Anyway, if you liked 21 Grams, you may also like Babel, and Amores Perros, by the same director, though not as good.
For Jeunet:
Delicatessen, The City Of Lost Children, and Amelie are reccomended, and A Very Long Engagement is good as well.
You may like David Lynch, I suggest starting with Blue Velvet if you haven't seen any of his work.

Some great directors off the top of my head and reccomended films by them:
Peter Jackson (Heavenly Creatures, Dead Alive/Braindead)
Martin Scorsese (Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, The Departed)
Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Delicatessen, Amelie)
Kevin Smith (Clerks 1&2, Mallrats, Chasing Amy)
Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth)
David Lynch (Mullholland Drive, Blue Velvet)
David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en)
Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs)
If you're looking for other movies that are ultra depressing, watch Leaving Las Vegas and Dancer in the Dark.

I know I mentioned this in a another thread about those movies, but this time I'm repping you.
