Hi all, I've decided to start this thread as i don't hear Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen's (NHOP) name mentioned at all around here, maybe because the name's too long? :p
But i think there needs to be a discussion thread about NHOP because he's is an amazing musician, incomparable in my opinion. I never hear enough about him amongst this forum, so yeah; let this be a thread in which we discuss about him.

Here's some footage for those who do and don't know of him :thumb:...

I've really wanted to hear Breaking the Ice by him and Florís Nico Bunnínk. NHOP was one of the best and is on a ton of records I own without even realizing it.

Holy ****, was he using all of his fingers on the left hand (excluding thumb of course) on Donna Lee?!?! Thanks a lot for telling me about this guy, he's amazing.

holy ****. incredible. How can you have that much accuracy with your left hand? And the fast stuff he was playing actually made sense musically. what a player

damn, I can sloppily play with three of my fingers on electric bass, but damn...that's insane

Haha yeah, he's definitely the most intense bassist i've seen in a while.
Although it looked like he was using 3 fingers for most of that vid - amazing anyhow. Those Oscar Peterson vids are great too, check them out if you haven't already.
