Stellios Kazantzidis greek singer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxxoEG_x04U

He is considered the greatest of all time by many, a statue was even made... The lyrics read

The wildflower (To agrioulouloudo)

Don't feel bad for me
Push me away today(thats literal, the meaning is kick me out tonight)
Like a wildflower
and cut my life

Chorus:
Naked I treaded
I go alone
my home is the road
and my song is pain

Hook:
Kick me out and don't feel bad
what will happen [of me] don't be scared
and if it snows and if its rains
the wildflower survives

Don't keep me
just out of sympathy
I got used to the cold
I'll last even in the snow

Chorus
Hook

Of course some meaning gets lost in the translation but what are you're guys thoughts? (not just of the lyrics but of the singing also)

Also if this isn't the right place I apologize but I feel that all singers/songwriters can learn from this man

It would have to be taken in its original context.

I'm sure it's fantastic in Greek, but doesn't work well in English.

Its all Greek to me

<_<

>_>

But it doesn't seem that good, there's definitely better ones out there. Hell I've seen better lyrics on this board. :)

Again though, songwriting does not translate well to other languages. Literally translating the words to English can make the meaning very plain. Remember that in the English language, simply the way you say a word (note that I even italicized it for emphasis!) can complete change the meaning.

True, but until I learn greek or there's a better translation, they're going to stay the way they are.

I didn't mean it as offensive, just an observation; the lyrics (in their current state - the only thing I have to go on) didn't do much for me.

What does everybody think about the guys voice (I just want to know what people aside from Greeks think of his voice)
