So, new Japanese Fender J, $275, with the Fender hardshell. Only problems are a iffy output jack and some finishing cracks.

Put some DR's on there. Seriously best strings ever. What sound are you looking for in the strings?

You need to put a black pickguard on there to double it's wickedness. White looks wrong...

Tort would be disgusting on that bass.
White pearl is the way to go.

White pearl would be better... but black or black pearl would be best :)

Well, tbh with a finish like that you may as well just take it off til you get the black one!

It's actually a grounding strip.
I'm still up in the air about pickguard choice, I don't want another black pearl pickguard as that is what i have on my P-bass.

No pickguard. You'll stand out instead of it looking like every other fender jazz bass.
