Wanted to make a thread about this before Serenity did. I can't figure out why he resigned except for possibly poor reflections on DePaul University due to all the negative media attention towards Finkelstein's failed consideration for tenure created, either against the university for keeping Finkelstein on board for his opponents or against them refusing to give him tenure for his supporters. In that sense I suppose his decision was a good one, as the vitriol he has spewed and conjured up from supporters and opponents is all out of proportion to the ideal for any academic credibility or discussions.
