hey guys
Ive recently got a job and with my birthday coming up in november i am hoping to look at buying a 6 string bass. If really neccessary I could use my christmas money as well if I had to. Im looking to spend about £600 maximum but would go over that a bit if I had to.
My friend who works in a music store has suggested 2 basses. One being the Dean Edge 6 and the other one being the Cort Artisan 6. Firstly I would like to know what people's opinions are on these basses and whether they would recommend them?
Also what other basses would people suggest I try out that are within my price range?
I play a lot of metal music but like to play lots of other stuff as well so something quite versatile would be handy. Dont really know what to say so if you need anymore information just ask
cheers for any help :thumb:

I am selling my Dean Edge 6 string fretless. Not because it's bad, it's an awesome bass. I am selling it because I don't really use fretless much at all. I definitely recommend it. Check out Peavey Grind 6er if you can.

Go to the talkbass.com classified and you will probably find some Brice 6er's which have great build quality, but lack in the electronics department. Find one thats got an electronics upgrade and you will be set.
On another note I am VERY happy with my Ibanez 6 sixer. Super tight B string. I also recommend getting a an SR506 or 406. Come to think of it may be Jody still has that SR506 still on sale.

to Jimbobntnr: Unfortuntely I live in the UK and cant say im really very keen about importing a bass unless i really had to
to Claypool22: Cheers for that man. Ive not heard much about dean basses so im glad to know someone would recommend them before i try one. Also I will see what i can do about trying out a Peavey Grind 6 as well. Im hopefully gonna go to london and go into all the music shops and try out what I can.
to HELLonWHEELS: I did try out a used sr506 a while ago a did like it. Is jody from the UK and if so where in the UK cause i would be willing to buy it if he lives close enough to me and also that i decide to go with the ibanez
What about a curbow 6? When they come up they don't go for much, £350-400.

Jody lives in the U.S. More specifically, Louisiana, I believe.
