I've just started with some slapping and tapping, and I was hoping to get some tips and advice on how to tackle it well.

For slapping I've got some very basic exercises, which I can do well in leggato but I have some trouble with staccato, and kepping all the fingers on the fretboard (for playin and 'dampening') is alittle tricky. (I can play RHCP's aeroplane main slap riff in legatto.) So I am hoping for some tips and exercises to keep me busy and some beginner songs.

And for tapping I only know a simple lick, so if someone could point out a simple song or exercise.

As well some off bass exercises would be really cool.

thx a million

Why is playing staccato with slap harder than playing staccato fingerstyle

slapped/popped notes have a faster decay so if anything, staccato should be easier

HaVIC5 has some great beginner tapping lessons
some simple tapping songs:

Stuart Hamm - Country Music (the start), Linus and Lucy
those were the 2 I started with anyway

George Smed - Chocolate Milk

Check out Victor Wooten's slap/tap instructional video. Taught me a lot on both the physical aspect and the musical aspect of playing. I think it's on youtube. FIND IT!
