Good, but not a normal sterling. IF you get a good deal go for it.

it's that, with a thinner neck.

Just so you know, the SUB line has been discontinued for a while now, so you are only going to find it on the used market.

If you found a seller already and are confirming that it is good, I feel like an idiot. :p

What would you guys consider is a good price for this discontinued bass? Worth over $500 even if it has nicks on the headstock only? How much did it usually go for?

imo this is a $200 bass.

Considering they whent for like 650-750 New, I think anyways, I wouldn't exactly call that a deal.

In my opinion the SUB Sterling is a great bass. I have one and have been playing it for three years now. Never had a single issue with it. It's built well and sounds great. Although the finish is not as fancy as other MusicMan basses, it is very durable and it grows on you. The painted neck is very smooth and plays well. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Wow, other than the thinner neck, the SUB Sterling has one more fret and a 3-band active EQ instead of the regular SUB's 2-band.

ALMOST IDENTICAL!

I think I might get an SUB and slap it silly.

Well I jumped the gun and bought one used (of course) on ebay. While I do think it is a little expensive, the color got the best of me. I'm a sucker for black on red. If you must flame, do so:

Looks nice, but what's up with that one black knob? Does the SUB sterling really have a 3 band eq? On the "normal" SUB there's only a two-band eq, in order to get 3 you'd have to get the real stingray, amirite?

As for the price, it's still about half of what they go for here.

The SUB Sterling comes standard with a 3 band EQ. The owner of that bass must have swapped the original volume knob for the black one.

Many people say that the 2band stingrays are better anyway. The SUBs are great basses and I almost bought one a few years back.

Look at it this way, I'll never forget which one is the volume knob :p
