Not many cheap brands do lefty's.

Pearl eliminator do a lefty.

DW5000 do a left.

Not sure on any other sorry man!

You can get IC leftys.

Flying dragons, eliminators, and DW all have lefty versions as well.

Unfortunatly, it's only top line models that have a left handed counterpart.

You could get a righty pedal, but you'd have to adjust your set up a bit and you'd probably want to buy a clamp to mount the hi-hat on your bass.

yes, but no. It doesnt hurt for him to start double bass early, but it would be more beneficial for him to work on his left foot more.

FAST DUBLE BASS DOOD!

are you talking to me? i'm not saying if he doesn't go fast he's not going to be good. i'm just saying that if he realizes he won't use it much he'll waste money. i knew some kid that bought a double kick thinking he'll use it a lot when he gets one. he ended up just taking the right side off (he's lefty too by the way). he paid extra for that lefty iron cobra too.

Naw, I started with a double pedal pretty early on. Didn't hurt me at all. Then again, I wasn't even into metal when I got the double pedal, so my goal wasn't "OMG PLAY FAST 1280th NOTES!!!!1!!11!!!"

i don't see any problem with TS getting a double pedal as long as he promises right here in this thread not to obsess over it.

Its not advisable to get one then.

When I was looking into getting a left-footed DBP, one salesman told me about some pedals that could be disassembled and reassembled lefty style without actually having to unscrew every nut and bolt. Unfortunately, I was never actually able to find one, so he might have just been lying to me.

Just play 'righty', you'll be better for it in the end. And wont have to spend extra money on the same gear.

yeah, you should give playing open handed right a try.

Probably not the highest quality compared to the ICs Elims and DWs, but Taye has lefty double-bass pedals in their metalwork pedals, or their older version of pedals

how will it benefit me? are you saying right handed players are more capable? the money part i can understand because left handed stuff is always more expensive but playing right wont benefit me.

Have you tried the metalworks? I haven't been able to find any nearby stores to try them out. I was wondering how they'd compare with the bigger pedals out there. I have the regular taye doubles, they're actually really good for the price. 219$ canadian

can i get a link to said pedal?

Its pure money, if you want to pay over $600 for it. I wouldnt suggest the metalworks, but they are the new most adjustable pedal. Taye Metalworks.

The Janus Ergo double pedal can also convert into a lefty as well. These can run from $200-250, depending where you get them.

then just click on pedals. And yes, the metalworks pedals are a tad more expensive than the normal ones

Nope, I'm saying left handed players are more capable. Unless you play lefty, then you are just causing yourself more issues.

Different gear, setup different, whenever you are with friends you can't just sit down and jam, etc

Yeah, there's a kid who goes to our church who plays drums. I asked him if he'd be interested in playing with our praise band sometime, but he can't because he plays on a left-handed kit and our e-kit is righty.

yeah true but i've tried playing right and really can't do it.

same with anything else.

plus if i want to practice right i can just get the single bass pedal it came with and just set the kit up righty.

learn to play open handed, or just learn as if you were right handed. The hassle of playing on a 'lefty' kit would be massive.
