Review.
Intro.
This cymbal sorta happened to fall into my lap. After playing my sabain XS20 ride for almost 4 years now, it was time for another. I found a kid that was selling this baby. I took the offer.
Sound.
Bright Bright Bright. Loud Loud Loud. Thats all there is to say. I wish it was a tad bit warmer, but its alright. The bow of the ride produces a nice ping, with bright overtones. Let me tell you it's cutting. And the 22'' gives more play around the bow, and allows more over tones as you reach the cymbals edge. The Bell of the ride is pretty loud, but blends perfect with the bow. Again nice and bright. The crash of this thing is great. Its powerful, and loud. It cuts through even the loudest of volumes.
Price.
Well, Honestly, I lucked out. This ride sells at musicians friend for about $300. I had a friend in this band sell it, about a year old, for $180. In perfect condition might I add.
Conclusion.
Over all i'd give this cymbal a 4/5 because of the loudness and how bright it is, its hard to play lighter volume tunes that calls for a darker cymbal. But thats not why Bonham used these beasts. Nice and too the point.
