One Word has a pretty cool groove to it.

Everyone's probably already heard that version before though :upset:
I like this; it's Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, and Victor Wooten. It's some good **** in my opinion.

The Dennis Chambers is insane. John McLaughlin is like how Miles was; he just finds all of these amazing guys to play with and does it constantly.

Oh come on. (i'm talking about swing tunes here) he has about 3 licks. As a ballad player he is unparalleled, though.

Don't worry. Hey, except I can post respectfully in this forum (not others tho).
Tell me how much Miles sucks let it all out I'd like to hear. I won't argue I don't think, but go on..

Yeah, I'm fine with a respectful debate, but I don't want it to turn into "no u fag". I come here to get away from the pit, not to bring it with me.

I hate victor wooten, he always makes me feel akward.

08-28-2007, 09:18 PM
what do you mean
hes a good player, his style is cool. I am not one of his worshipers at at all though.

He's an "ok" player, but he has this hype around him now. Hes expected to double thumb because thats what hes famous for, where as a finger style player, hes mediocre, I mean, that solo of his was pretty bad, but so was the entire jam.
(*The Noonward Race*)
08-28-2007, 09:28 PM
yeah the hype is overstated, i agree.
basswise I think I like jonas hellborg the most atm
him and shawn lane did temporal analogues of paradise a solid jam

Yeah, the jam wasn't that great in retrospect. For example, the whole "hey let's make a tribute to jaco" kind of sucked since it went on too long and it just didn't fit in. I mean, I don't think it was all horrible, but not necessarily "some good ****" as I posted before.

well it was a good post itt thats for sure

Yeah, but one of the things I didn't like was vic trying to solo like jaco, it failed.

Of course all the drummers that have already been mentioned and any James Brown drummer is groovey as hell.
