My band has been invited to play in a Blues Festival next month and I was wondering if you guys would like to add to our set. We've got a few basics that we play regularly, but I'd like to throw some new stuff into the mix. I'm looking for songs that are not too terribly difficult, as time is short and practice time is shorter. Also, our guitar player is quite an able player, but his vocals aren't the best. And if it's something we can "jam out" with, all the better.
Keep in mind this is taking place at a "shot and beer" bar, so anything pertaining to alchohol is a plus. lol

So let's have it. The "dirtier" the better.

Thanks.
Sid

"Mistreated But Undefeated Blues" by Ray Brown on the album Soular Energy
Freddie Freeloader?
Voodoo Chile - Jimi Hendrix
C Jam Blues - Duke Ellington
Carl's Blues - Curtis Counce

Not the best list I could come up with, but I just did this kind of quickly.

I've been wanting to do VooDoo Chile, but I keep getting shot down. I'm gonna try again.

Any SRV is good for a good guitar player who can't sing very well

If you still need a "song list", here's a few good ones:

1.Too Much Alcohol - I'm not sure who did it originally (Broonzy, perhaps?) but Rory Gallagher plays it pretty well. Shouldn't be too hard to electrify.
2. One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer - John Lee Hooker
3. Poor Johnny - Robert cray
4. Spoonful - Howlin' Wolf/ Cream (if you want to "jam it out" you can play it in the Cream vein)
5. Born Under A bad sign - Albert King (another easy one to extend out and jam)

Plus there's the standards like sweet home chicago etc etc.
And two of them are about alcohol.

If you really want to do Hendrix, I highly recommend Machine Gun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3Sc8xG_KLI
