I've been on a bit of an Eric Dolphy binge for the last few days, and my mind has been blown at least 12 times. From his work as a leader to his work with Mingus, Oliver Nelson, and Andrew Hill, he is consistently brilliant.

Dolphy fans, you've found a home.

I've only heard Out to Lunch.

I need to fix this.

Check out Far Cry, Point of Departure, Mingus at Antibes, and Blues and the Abstract Truth. You won't be disappointed.

I dunno, I just feel he gets out played on every one of his recordings. His early works were great up until Conversions (1963). Everything after that just sounds awful to me.

Cornell 1964 is pretty cool.

I really dig his work on Out to Lunch/The Blues and the Abstract Truth. there's a great a great 40 min vid of him with mingus floating around on dailymotion which i really liked.
