hmmm, then they wouldn't be Van Halen would they? Wolfgang Eddies son is playing Bass on this tour.
I have seen these guys over 40 times since the beginning, and only one bad show. It was at the US festival in San Bernadino. Roth was so drunk, he couldn't remember the words to any songs. Shortly after he was out of the band.

Van Halen is a really fun band. I might just go see them, especially since this might be the last time they ever play with Roth.

They put on a amazing live show in the late 70's and throughout the 80's/
Will be interesting to see if age has slowed them down.

But we're in early 2000. That's 20 years of arthritis.

I find it pretty weird that this community has little interest for the pioneers and innovators of Rock Music long before everything else was created. Weird.
I for one, will see them live, and I am sure millions of others will too.

Is Eddie's son still playing bass for them or did Michael come back?

Nah,Michael is not on good terms with the Van Halen brothers, neither is Sammy Hagar.
Wolfgang is like 16 or 17, I am sure he is talented, but 50 shows, I wonder if he can pull it off?

I do have a lot of respect for what he did for guitar playing. But I don't really like a lot of their music.

I'll give you that. A lot of their songs were pretty cheesy. After the 3rd album, they know any crap they tossed out the fans would buy.

You're too young to know what you are talking about. No one puts on a rock concert like Van Halen did.

We are very good, but Van Halen is better. Course , now in 2007, the jury is still out. Still should be an exciting concert.

New Pic of Van Halen. That Wolfie is a big kid and looks a little out of place with those geriatric rockers.

hey Jaylink
you do know that new music has been made since 1985, right?
They were going to go on tour a year ago but there were alcohol problems or something. I hope they have all sobered up (not completely, but enough to remember how to play their songs).

I prefer the old music thanks.
I am well aware of all music, but thanks for reminding me.
If you like Van Halen or their music or not, this tour will be huge and outdraw by far any newer music tour going on today.
Since I worked for Pollstar for many years, I'll get all the numbers once they are in.

fair enough I just see that you really like bands like Van Halen and Heart, which couldn't be a good thing for a musician

Yeah, that vid is from the 80's but I wonder if he still has the same chops since he is what? 52 now. I think the rehab helped alot, but hell, he played messed up and still never missed a note.
