Horrid term for a movement in music, but i don't mind a bit of L7 and Babes In Toyland every now and then. Anyone listen?

I care little for the movement or what have you but some decent tunes (if not a great influence/epoch) came out of it.

I love Bikini Kill. The movement had quite a few good bands, but that nasaly pissed off girl voice kinda gets old after a while.
Riot Grrl.
I knew someone whose girlfriend listened to Bikini Kill a lot. After about a year of dating she broke up with him for a woman. Music ruins lives.

Agreed.
I'm really into Sleater Kinney. At first I felt a bit of cognitive dissonance from that, but why should I? Those ladies rock, end of story.
Ironic as hell because I think Riot Grrrl is derogatory and patronising, haha.
I like a bit of Bikini Kill though.

i think this movement was kind of pointless, no good comes out of hating men, and theres no getting around that. but i guess some good influence came out of it
i like some bikini kill, but nothin else really.. it just doesnt do it for me

Didn't Kurt Cobain date somebody from Bikini Kill?
Few cool bands from this movement. Bikini Kill have obviously been mentioned already, but I really like Huggy Bear aswell.

Wasn't it someone from L7? I'll check.
edit: no you're right, Tobi Vail from Bikini Vail

well indiecore isnt a genre, but riot grrrl's is, wow... some moderators work in totalitarism and just block all the topics i make, it is a terrible reality...I think now they just see wartree topic starter, and they block all the way. What was wrong with that topic, I indiecore is a subgenre of indie, some have call it hard indie(?) and now hardcore indie, indiecore...But even if indiecore wasnt a subgenre, what were the reasons to block the topic...
Sincerely wartree
1) I've never actually noticed you make a post, but I dount anybodies set against you if you don't make stupid posts.
2) The difference is obvious. Riot Grrrl was a certified, genuine, intereresting and semi-important movement in indie music and indiecore doesn't exist. The fact that you only reference one band to justify it's existence, and then ask for reccomendations is kind of ridiculous. As far as I can see it's a silly term which magazines like NME used to describe Test Icicles and then realised it doesn't really apply to a movement in music - unlike Riotgrrrl which has a pretty big scope.
3) Chill, please.
4) Sincerely Kyle.

As Kyle said it's not a genre, it's a movement in music.
I really like Huggy Bear aswell.
Yeah, they're good.
