I like Spencer Krug but Sunset Rubdown gets terribly boring after a few listens.

Please don't be such a ****ing idiot. Pitchfork "whores" every band, as does every music site that is trying to garner our hits and therefore ad money. If you are going to base which bands you listen to by which sites "whore" them, then you are a bigger idiot than I thought.

This thread is about Sunset Rubdown, I rec'd the link and place it here for this board's opinion. Please stay on topic or get the **** out.

Gracias....

i dont base what i listen to on any internet sites, it just gets old after a while to see you making a thread about every band that was on pitchforks best list 4 months ago.

So no one can make threads on new releases from a bands that were on Pitchfork four years ago? This makes sense.

Seriously, what's wrong with you? I've made two band specific threads. One about a leak (the Kevin Drew thread, so we can discuss it, I don't believe Pitchfork mentioned the leak, or reviewed the full album yet) and the second about a new track from an amazing set of bands (the Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs/Sunset Rubdown group). Maybe you are just prone to hyperbole or something?

Margin0Walker, I don't keep track of or care about any best lists from any sites. I don't care if the editors of Pitchfork are conducting a 6 hour circle jerk over Spirit If as we speak. These are simply good bands with exciting new music and this is the A&I forum... You are free to ignore the thread.

Personally, I believe there are quite a few people here who are interested in Wolf Parade, et al, and are want to hear the new Sunset Rubdown song. So really, shut up already..

So the album leaked, anyone grab yet, I just started listening....

I don't know why A&I has turned into such a bunch of morons. We've gone from attacking noobs with bad taste, to just attacking anyone with a low postcount or a good but predictable taste. This is an Alternative & Indie forum, to discuss a new sunset rubdown is fairly relevant.

And as for the Pitchfork thing, it's cool if people can discover music all by themselves, but there also shouldn't be anything wrong with people who read reviews and listen to their oppinions. That's fairly normal, and review sites like Pitchfork are still a good source of news and infornmation.

Havn't listened to this yet, but I'll check it out.

Actually, I didn't find the song, originally. At another board I frequent, someone put up the link, and I thought since this is A&I, you'd be interested.

It's pretty amusing, really, the way some people are on boards. Every board has a few.

Anyway, so far, I'm enjoying the album, it's definitely a grower. There's a lot going on... It's going to take a few listens.

Thanks

I downloaded the album through torrents and after sitting at 99.9% for like twenty minutes it was pulled from the tracker...

The new one is great. I like it a lot more than their album from last year.

Second time through... "leopard" & "taming" are early faves! Though, it's too early to really say that.
