hey im in this band called FREAKASAPIEN. the bass player, drummer and vocalist have been playing together for a few years, i just joined last september. we have recorded many demos trying to capture what we really wanted, but in the last 3 weeks we busted our asses and finialy have an 8 track demo done.

we try to stray away from what you would expect to hear, i guess thats where an experimental bit comes in.

we have our demo on our myspace page, but for some reason they made it sound like crap. so i have a soundclick player embedded on the site with all 8 songs.

our stronger songs are cage, battered, and perfect living. coat is a softer tune that we have never recorded until now. on the track me (mark) and our singer/backup guitarist (josh) both play guitar. so when we did the guitar, we had to overdub one. when playing we really relie on eachother to do leads and whatnot, so having it split up when recording, it really didnt come out fully how it really sounds.

if you like it, post something about what you liked or whatever. if you have criticism, we would like to hear that too.

thanks,
mark/FREAKASAPIEN

the mixing is really good. I love the way everything sounds. just excellent.
the music itself is pretty good too. you've got some industrial vs grunge thing going here.
the vocalist remind me of Brian Warner. that and the lead guitar is what triggers the industrial tag I'm throwing at you. the rhythm guitar, bass and drums sound like a 90s alternative rock (e.g. what is referred to as "grunge" by the media) thing.
so what it all boils down to is tight industrial-influenced alternative rock. is it good? well... it's not bad. just a tad boring to my taste. I listened to four songs, and didn't really grasp it. it's not catchy or interesting enough for me.

but I guarantee you that there are people who will dig this, so keep recording and evolving.
