I have recently started listening to more indie related music, and have enjoyed it a lot. What are some good indie bands that aren't recieving a lot of attention? I would like to know of some good bands that haven't received much attention. Please respond!

Check out The Twilight Sad. I feel like they arent talked about as much as their shoegazer-tinged scottish depression rock should be.

You're a ****ing idiot.

Mozartv, you should check out some Elliott Smith, Deerhoof, Big Black, Shellac, The Stooges, Comets on Fire, the Descendents, Sonic Youth, the Pixies, Pavement, and Rites of Spring if you haven't already. Although a few of these aren't really 'indie', based on the bands you said you liked, I'm pretty sure you'll like all or most of them.

Also, if you have a last.fm account, add me.

indie isnt even a genre, but everyone here except you understands exactly what he's looking for so we're posting bands in the same vein

you already admitted you didnt like this kind of music that much, so you shouldnt worry about trying to give advice

STOP POSTING

all you're doing is naming sub-sub-sub-genres of indie rock (or alternative rock) and regardless of what you think, every band named by every person in this thread (except you) is exactly what the threadstarter is looking for

boilermaker, i like deerhoof, pixies, and pavement, but have only heard about rites of spring. also wanting to get into sonic youth. should i get daydream nation by sonic youth, or sister by SY?

YDload

Daydream Nation is where most people start (including me) and i'm thinking of getting Sister next.

so what i'm saying is, go Daydream

Boilermaker
07-20-2007, 03:27 PM
Get both, they're equally awesome.. I also think you'd really enjoy Rites of Spring, it's Guy from Fugazi's old band. Really high energy catchy punk.

mozartv

Then check out the Evens also. It's Ian's new baritone guitar duo with this girl drummer (who I think is his girlfriend). I saw them a while ago, and they were awesome live. I shook Ian's hand :D I think you'd like 'em.

Hope you like our little forum, I'm sure you'll fit in quite well :)
