i'm really not even going to argue the ignorance of that post.
and if it was a personal shot at me, you fail. i can actually read bass clef and i'm working on my treble reading.

Brandon_S
07-19-2007, 01:27 AM
You should learn to read the grand staff (Bass, and Treble clef) it helps you with notes as they get into the ledger lines,it helped me a ton!.
Bigga
07-19-2007, 01:29 AM
oh yea i should look into that...sometimes i get carried away with just playing that i forget that reading it is also part of it lol
Brandon_S
07-19-2007, 01:31 AM
Well,Do you know your Scales,Key Signatures,Modes,Penatonics etc?
Bigga
07-19-2007, 01:43 AM
yea i know them im not that bad lol just the reading music part
sight reading the music was always a problem :|
Brandon_S
07-19-2007, 01:46 AM
I wasen't saying you were!
I was just getting some ideas here, hmm get your hands on any peice of music and read through it? figure out the note values?,the note itself, what chord, scale, mode etc is being used.
If you want a good practice tip,Play a C,and then play its octave, but right it down on Sheet Music Paper,so you can see where it is in the ledger lines.
Bigga
07-19-2007, 01:48 AM
yea that is useful...uma get into that...you know where i can get free sheet music for bass? i tried searching already but had no luck.

Not a whole lot. Just figured I'd check the forums before I had any urge to play WoW. I've decided over the years with my tenur on the internet, I should be able to transfer the communities I've been interested in to my new mediums. That would be cool.

Yes, but the title didn't entice me, so I didn't click it. I didn't check who it was by or anything. I just thought, "Probably somebody's band, and a bad one at that."

Well, I was just thinking when I first started using the internet. I don't remember exactly how old I was, but I've always been attracted to forums or some sort of online community. It'd be neat to amalgamate all the people I've met online over the years.

It seems a lot easier to get a maxed out character than in Dark Age of Camelot.
When I played DAoC, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get into higher level stuff without a group. Watching my brother play, it seems like most people solo to 70.

You can. It just depends on how good you want to be relative to your level. A lot of the better gear that will make grinding easier drops from instances. At end-game, pretty much all your material is instances, raids, and daily quests. Most of your real solo play besides possible PvP stuff at end game all requires groups of some sort. Levelling on your own isn't hard though, just have to make sure you're prepared in the end.

Don't you just love it when somebody thinks they are being clever by logging in with an alternate account, and then abusing users, expecting that we wil have no idea what their primary account is.

usualy adjusting your action and neck go hand in hand

you mean by the thrust rods?

i sure do :thumb:
Bigga
07-19-2007, 05:29 PM
yea i thought of that but i never did try it i heard you could really **** your bass up if you dont do it right.
lemoley
07-19-2007, 05:31 PM
well the only way you could really **** your bass up by adjusting the neck is by doing it to much thus snapping it
but i hope your not too much of a retard that you would see when it was bowing too much and stop
Bigga
07-19-2007, 05:34 PM
so when i turn the rods the neck adjusts right away or do i have to wait a while?
lemoley
07-19-2007, 05:37 PM
not right away but you should notice some difference
Akira
07-19-2007, 05:39 PM
Lemoly, the danger isn't snapping the neck, it is breaking the truss rod. Which can happen without any visual stress on the neck. It's more a matter of how quickly you adjust than how much you adjust.
Bigga
07-19-2007, 05:40 PM
ok kool ...thanks man im gona try that.

Not any better than Music123 or Musicians Friend or whatever. New gear prices are pretty much standard in America, with most major dealers (national chains and website) offering price matching to compete with each other.
That said, they usually have a good selection, and occasionally a well-priced nice piece of used gear.
lemoley
07-19-2007, 05:45 PM
But the point is that you won't necessarily see anything wrong until it's too late.
meh, i have had alot of experience with setting up guitars - both with myself doing them and watching other peeps doing them
and in that i have seen alot of incidents where peeps just dont know how much to turn
but still, even when the neck is quite clearly bowed from there turning the trussrod has remained intact and by this time they have stopped (yes, there are some goons at my school)
Trevo

I've played this 5 times in a row now. It's pretty neat.
Lemoly: for sure man, it looks great. But the Sr5 that gave me Gas to get a SR5 was natural finish with a dark red pickguard. I just wanted to replicate that. :p

My experience with the GT-6B is limited, so I honestly can't say. I find it a fair bit harder to use, but it has a lot more to it. If you get the GT-6, expect to sit down with the unit and the manual for a couple of days to learn how the hell it works.
