I almost put the Queen on there...almost.
While I love my T-1000, he's just an upgrade of the same concept.
I find that the T-800 is more menacing because the movies are different sub-genres (much like alien/aliens) T1 being sci-fi/horror, T2 being sci-fi/action.

I wouldn't put D-fens on there. He's not a villain in the way of the antagonist to the protagonist. He is the protagonist in the movie and he really isn't out to take over or whatever movie villains do. He was just a regular guy that snapped.
Good movie they, under-watched for sure.
I wouldn't Put Aaron Stampler either, I would say why, but I feel I couldn't do it without spoiling a great movie.

4. Frank Booth in Blue Velvet (Dennis Hopper)Definitely, pure fvcking evil.Dracula in Bram Stoker's Dracula (Gary Oldman)Agreed, particularly in his guise as the seducer Prince Vlad, although he's also very much an anti-hero as well.
Sheriff Cooley (Daniel von Bargen) in 'O Brother Where Art Thou', though he is not a major character, is also a great villain I feel.

I think everyone wanted to smack that Nurse Ratchet silly. What a persistent and annoying woman.
This is really making me think, complex and interesting bad guys that haven't been mentioned (or might of been and i skipped them, i'll alternate between actors and character names) -
- Bill Paxton in Frailty
- The french guy from Killing Zoe
- Sosa from Scarface
- John Turturro in Secret Window
- Greg Stillson from The Dead Zone
- Tim Curry in IT
- The con-man in Nine Queens (the fat guy in american remake Criminal wasn't quite so good in comparison i reckon)
- The three brothers in The Boys (with David Wenham)
- Brad Pitt in Kalifornia (is his name Smiley in that film? I forget)
- Kathy Bates in Misery
- The guy with the circular saw in The Running Man (i think it was Buzzsaw)
- The Predator
Just a few i remember, theres so many.

thedeadwalk!
07-17-2007, 10:36 PM
In my mind, anti-heroes are called anti-heroes and not bad guys for a reason.
Also, appearance doesn't make a bad guy. Only in exceptions like Identity could individual imaginary people be good and bad, but not in ones like Secret Window or Fight Club.
Meatplow
07-17-2007, 10:46 PM
I can see your point with anti-heroes but i still I believe John Shooter was a tangible bad guy, real or not because he had the qualities of one. Tyler Durden couldn't, because he was a much more complex character.
SPOILER
I don't see how you could take Identity as an exception, they are split personalities existing inside some guys head so they are no more real then John Shooter.

I exempt that one because, as I recall, a rather separate story unfolds in his head, which is the movie, and thus makes those imaginary people the characters of the movie.
So in Fight Club, would you consider Tyler Durden to be a villain?
