Probably 2001: A Space Odyssey for me.

Also, notice that on the main forums page, this thread appears as "What is your favorite movie..." so some people might be confused and put down wrong answers without reading the thread. let's laugh at them :D

yeah, I'd have to say 2001 for me as well. Great movie, but cast entirely with unknowns, who are still unknown.

As for animated movies, the first one that springs to mind is Aladin, since if I recall there aren't any celebrity voices. Where Lion King had James Earl Jones and Jonathan Thomas, and all modern animated movies are full of celebrity voice actors anyway. I think Aladin was last in an era in that sense.

most Disney/Pixar movies still don't have a lot of celebrity voices because they're not stupid like Dreamworks. they know that they need voice actors, not just actors. some regular actors just happen to be really good at using their voices only (like Robin Williams of course), but for the most part it's just no-names who are heard but not seen.

This reminds me I still haven't seen 2001. I own it, so I might watch it now.

dammit, I forgot! He was the genie.

But yeah, it gets crazy sometimes. That movie Robots, I looked at the DVD packaging and saw like 10 big name stars on it, I'm totally "holy crap".

Well, Doug Jones played Pale Man/Faun in Pan's Labyrinth. He was Abe Sapien (under suit, David Hyde Pierce provided an uncredited voice-over of Abe) in Hellboy.

He was also Silver Surfer in FF4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

How can you really have a favorite* movie in which you don't know any of the actors? If one liked it so much to the point then they would be smart enough to get off their *** and look it up, bingo! ____ starring:

What the hell are you talking about? Haven't you ever watched a movie that had no actors that you knew about before you watched it? For example, I watched The Element of Crime because I loved the director's other movies, but I'd never heard of any of the actors in it.

i look up every movie i watch but i forget who the actors in 2001 are now. and even though it's my favorite movie in which I don't know any of the actors (this is the important part), that doesn't mean it's one of my top 10 movies of all time or anything. it would probably be eclipsed by several other films whose actors are known to me.

Shaun of the Dead

Hot Fuzz(Still haven't learned their names)

Pretty much any zombie movie minus Land of the Dead because it has John Liguizamo(sp?).

Except for Rosario Dawson(who wasn't in the original broadway) and Anthony Rapp(small role in Road Trip), I didn't know the cast of RENT which has really grown on me. I've had the songs in my head for 2 weeks now.

Richard Dreyfuss dude!

When I watched Opus, I didnt know him, and wikipedia tells me he was in Down and out in Beverly hills and Jaws, which I've seen, but dont exactly remember.

Coffee and cigarettes was the only movie where I knew almost everyone, which is one of the premises of the movie. Guess I screwed up that edit.

I mostly rely on my roommate's impeccable taste for my movies as I'd rather not get myself an account at Limelight. I've heard great things about American Graffiti so I should check it out,eh?
We watched this movie awhile ago about the guy that did American Splendor. Documentaries are the devil. Sorry, went off on a tangent there.
