View Full Version : Question about Rancid's live shows.

Every video I have ever seen of Rancid, Tim has a guitar, but never really plays it. I don't understand this. One would consider at first that maybe he can't sing and play the guitar at the same time, but that couldn't be the case due to how simple the songs are. So does anyone know why Tim doesn't ever play guitar live and just lets it hang from his shoulders?

One would consider at first that maybe he can't sing and play the guitar at the same time,

he played and sung in some older live performances I've seen (...And Out Come the Wolves era), not to mention with Operation Ivy, so idk

maybe something to do with his alcoholism?

yea, theres times im sure where he is too drunk\f'ucked up to play. but mostly, i think rancid is just a one guitar band. Tim is the front man who just happens to play guitar. You can always tell whos playing the solos and stuff.
Like Tim from Rise Against doesn'y always play his guitar, but he usually takes it off if he's not using it. i dunno, i don't hold it against him.

See I brought up this exact same point like, three weeks ago and that Oi thread guy told me Tim owns a guitar.
