Is there a difference between electric violin strings and acoustic violin strings, or are they all the same? Thanks, Jake

I don't know, but I doubt there's a difference. Acoustic violin strings are certainly suitable for electric pickups.

Nope. They are the same regular violin strings (which could be equated to flatwound guitar strings, which some guitarists use in Jazz). With electric classical instruments, the note is picked up by a pick up that is attached either to the bridge, the foot of the bridge, or the body of the instrument near the F hole. This are prime locations where the sound wave vibrates strongly.
