This is the new release by Mount Eerie: a 132 pg. hardcover photo book with a 10” picture disc. Hot off the presses of the prestigious Hemlock Printers in Canada. Not to toot our own horn too much but this is the biggest and best thing we’ve ever made. Here are some reasons for the price: it was printed and bound at the best printer in North America rather than somewhere in Asia where almost all art books are made, it was printed on 10,000 lbs. of FSC certified 50% recycled, 35% post-consumer “Endeavor” paper (“savings”- 20 full grown trees, 60 lbs of water-borne waste, 9000 lbs solid waste, 1000 gallons of water, 1900 lbs of greenhouse gases, 14870 (000) BTU’s of energy), picture discs are expensive, it was mastered by the amazing John Golden Mastering in California rather than the weak budget place, IT IS A MASSIVE EXCELLENT-LOOKING BOOK! Now for sale!
USA: 64$ / Canada: 76$ / the World: 90$ (prices include shipping)

I stopped listening to the Microphones once they totally embraced pretension when Phil turned into Mt. Eerie.

I suppose his stuff does seem to come across as pretentious, but I really have to disagree with that notion. What do you think is pretentious?

I guess I'm just disappointed he disbanded The Microphones, who were doing incredible, original music to do solo folk shits that are boring as all hell. I think someone should tell him about the New Weird America movement and the like so he can see how indie folk is actually progressing and becoming interesting instead of his crap.

I love the Microphones.
I hate:angry: Mt. Eerie. Saw them at the First unitarian Church in Philly. God they sucked.

The Microphones also had that appeal where Phil would experiment with recording techniques and come out with some really fun stuff. He would make it know to the listener that he was doing this and you got the impression that he was just some bored recording engineer fooling around. Mt Eerie doesn't even have a shred of that.

I wouldn't mind having this but there is no way in hell I'm paying that ridiculous price for it.

It is pretty expensive, but there are reasons for that. Art books of that sort are usually pretty expensive, so it's not like he's just ripping people off to make money.

Same. Except I wouldn't have used that shitty emoticon and I've never seen him/them live ever.
