Hey everyone,

I've got a question for anyone who uses reason. Could anyone tell me how to pan a sequencer track from left to right (or vice versa) gradually over a time period? I can't figure out how to do this.

Hey everyone,

I've got a question for anyone who uses reason. Could anyone tell me how to pan a sequencer track from left to right (or vice versa) gradually over a time period? I can't figure out how to do this.

Go to your main rack and right-click on the mixer. On the menu that appears, use the "Create>Sequencer Track For Mixer" option. You have a mixer track in your master writing control thingy.
Select the Mixer tab and push the little button that switches things to edit mode. Then click the blue "Show Controller Lane" button. This is used to write automated effects and such.
Right next to the "Show Controller Lane" button is a button with a drop-down menu labled "Controllers". At this point, it's good to know what track the instrument you want to pan is on on the mixer. If the instrument is on track 6 of the mixer, on the drop-down menu that just appeared, click the option "Channel 6 Pan" (or whatever channel it's on).
You probably want to zoom in from here.
The edit platform that appears should say "Not Automated" in the middle of it.
Notice all the way on the right of the editing screen that there is a number 0 in the middle and it extends to 64 in each direction. One direction from 0 is left, the other direction is right.
From here, you'll have to write it all in using either the pencil tool or the line tool.
If you don't know how to use the line tool, simply click where you want the pan to being (both scrolling along the edit pallet and when it comes to right-left), drag to the point where you want the pan to end it's journey is whatever direction, and release. This makes it so there is now a gradual transition in the pan from point A to point B.
From now on, whenever you play back your songs, the pan will be automated and you'll hear it on any speakers playing back in stereo.
