Neil Peart always needs an honorable mention (over 50 and still able to do 32nd-note triplets with his feet!)

And now for some names that haven't been mentioned yet

Aisley Dunbar (sp?) - I only know that he spent some time as a Mother of Invention (as did Terry Bozzio and Vinne Calaiuta), and that he was the only drummer even considered as a replacement for John Bonham when he died.

Rod Morganstein - If you've ever heard Platypus or the Jelly Jam, you'll (hopefully) agree with me that he's one of the best. My drum teacher has all the Rush albums and has seen them live countless times, and has seen Morganstein only once and already thinks he's as good. I agree with that opinion despite never having seen him play live.

The Drumset Musician by rick mattingly and rod morgenstein....thats the only book i use in my lessons....don't really use it anymore but when i first started i did the whole first section on 8th notes and 1/4 notes....towards the end it can get very chalenging.....im about halfway through the second section....but i don't work on it with my drum teacher anymore...

i got "essintial drumming" by peter erskine, seems pretty good, although some experienced knowledge wouldn't go a miss... although i suppose it's best seen as my drum teacher is using it with me? :p
