Hey y'all,
here's a link to my new song:

Please let me know what you think. I'm going to remaster it soon, so I'd especially appreciate any production critiques.
Cheers! :chug:

EDIT: I also created a purevolume page, so you can listen here if you'd like instead: http://www.purevolume.com/alhambrainashes

Well, it had a nice "oriental" flavor and I liked the soaring bass, but the drums were too heavy and too "HipHop-ish". Maybe, assuming this is computer music, go for something that sounds more like non-western acoustic percussion, like bongos, a djembe or a tabla or whatever.

Hmm...Well, I really don't understand what you mean by too "hiphopish". I tried to layer other percussion on top, including clave, guiro & agogos, but I wanted to have western percussion as the base so that I was firmly grounded in the beat. Also, I know the "verse" (intro) drum part is pretty much a straight forward slow rock beat, but I thought I came up with some slightly avant guard beats for the other main part (with the cross stick) and for the 5/4 part at the end.
I really like the drums the way they are, but I'll take your advice and listen again with a critical ear to the percussion. Thanks for the critique.

No problem. Thanks for critiquing my stuff as well :D
By "hiphop-ish", I meant that you hear heavy electronic percussion like this in a lot of modern hiphop. That's the way it sounded to me anyway...
