Gears Of War getting a PC release, completely different game (Video inside)

So Game Videos have footage of what appears to be the PC version of Gears, which will be shown at E3. The game will feature a completely new campaign seperate from the 360 version, as well as new multiplayer maps. From the looks of things, it runs a lot smoother, but will probably have some monster requirements for 60FPS all the time. It will also undoubtedly require Vista to play, and Live For Windows to play online.

But man, that boss battle with the Brumak looks brutal, and the new multiplayer maps look nice too. Oh well, just watch the video.

A Windows Games For Live "Achievement Unlocked" logo comes up about 40 seconds into it at the bottom. It's definitely the PC version.

Yeah, but they didn't have exclusive material. It is very possible that this is fan made, but I think the PC version will be announced at E3. That's why it was pulled from Game Videos. They messed up.

Definitely not. It uses the Unreal 3 Engine which was designed for PCs first and consoles second. Epic knows better than to drop their PC fans. Their mod community alone is enough to guarantee that this will make money.

The basic aiming is but there's tons of TPS features (obviously). For example, the cover system + roadie run as is would be really weird on PC.

Go play Rainbow Six Vegas, its on PC and uses the unreal engine, same code as gears. plays fine.

I kinda agree that Gears would run better on the 360. It's just a lot simpler, and to be honest, it isn't a very complex game anyway. Run, cover, shoot. That's pretty much it. I think it would be awkward to control on the PC.

Gears 2 won't be made until the Unreal 4 engine is out I think. I think that it would be pointless to release another Gears at the moment, when we know it would pretty much be the same game. I heard they were playing the new content at E3 on a 360, so I guess it's coming out for both. My only question is if it is included with the PC version, will it still cost points on the Marketplace. I hope not.

It'll be on Vista/XP/OSX. Odds are Windows Live will be Vista only, so achievements will only be available on Vista but you never know if Microsoft changes.
