Anyone seen/read the Edge Magazine's Top 100 video games sepcial that came out yesterday?

For those of you who don't know/don't get Edge where you live, it's a fairly high brow British gaming magazine. The criteria for the list was compiled of both reader nominations as well as editors opinions and scores given in reviews I think. The games also had to still be fun to play NOW, meaning stuff like Pong wasn't included purely on nostalgic merit.

I'll post the Top 10 in a minute, but for now all you need to know is that The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time was #1. Hell yeah.

Chrono Trigger should be higher, and no FFVI? Definite blasphemy.

I agree with number 1 though. No game has ever wowed me as much as Ocarina.

I think they put MGS2 instead of the first one because it was basically the same gameplay, but with some holes fixed(like the FP view) and a deeper story. Still, I would put MGS 3 over those.

My thoughts exactly. FFVII >>>>>>>> all other RPGs. Chrono Trigger should've been way higher. And why the hell is Crackdown on there? It's good, but best of all time?

Yeah but that game unfortunately wasn't released anywhere else than Japan I believe, so only people with emulators or japanese langauge experience played it.:thumb:

****, I copy/pasted the whole thing, used the "find next" thing in Notepad (typed in God of War) and nothing came up...guess that doesn't work as well as I thought :p

There's too much opinion on lists like these, like others said, FFVI SHOULD be on here, VII is a good game, but overrated. Despite what I just said about opinion I'm going to read the list and see what I strongly agreee/disagree with....also one last time, FF VI is still the best FF to date.

It's an amazing game. Probably the most epic game I've ever played. When you read about it, you pretty much see it as "No enemies, 16 boss battles, barren world," but when you actually play it and take in the art direction and the incredible music, you'll crap your pants. Definitely worth a buy imo.:thumb:

I would consider taking bomberman off, I almost didn't put it on that list, as for the others, they're pure classics that are still fun today.

Where's Command and Conquer and Age of Empires as well!?

Oblivion should most certainly not be on that list. Morrowind was so much better, I even like daggerfall more than Oblivion.
