So, instead of going for the usual favorite actors thread, I thought I'd also make one to know WHY they're your favorite. What role made them this way to you?
Kevin Spacey:
The Life of David Gale
I hadn't watched too many Spacey flicks before this. I watched this and Pay It Forward, and that was about it. After that, I started watching more and I love him.
Sean Penn:
I Am Sam
I had seen Penn movies before, but I thought he was outstanding in this movie.
Al Pacino
Enough said.
Johnny Depp
Blow
I've always loved Depp, but Blow definitely made him a favorite of mine. Something about him in that movie just got to me.
So yes, pretty simple thread. Post away.

Steve Buscemi - almost all roles. Seriously, he rules
James Woods - Videodrome and Salvador. Those two especially, but he's good in others
Vincent Price - whatever the first film I saw him in was.
and maybe others already mentioned and people I've forgotten about momentarily

John Travolta: Pulp Fiction, Broken Arrow, Face/Off, Swordfish, seems like an awesome guy in interviews.
Sylvester Stallone: as a weightlifter he's an inspiration, plus he seesm very down to earth and humble in interviews i've seen/read. His decent films - Rocky 1,2,3,4,6, Rambo: first blood, Demolition Man, Cliffhanger.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: same as above, plenty of fun films: Terminator 1+2, Predator, The Running Man, Total Recall, Last Action Hero etc.
Brad Pitt: exudes confidence and charisma with a slightly boyish charm. Great in Fight Club, The Mexican, Snatch, lots of others.
Then theres loads of others I like, mainly for one or two roles they really excelled at:
Tom Berenger as Staff. Sgt Barnes in Platoon.
James Woods in Videodrome, Shark and himself in Family Guy and the Simpsons :p
Gary Oldman: Leon, True Romance.

Hmm, my friend goes on about that all the time. I'll have to give it a watch now that you've reminded me, thanks :)
I think Woods is very underestimated, he seems very versatile and has a lot of presence on screen.
