What's a good affordable keyboard to start out with?

Also are there any good free websites that offer lessons? I remember about.com helped me alot when i first started guitar. Or should i just grab a piece of sheet music and painfully play it note by note until i get faster? I can read sheet music and i can locate notes on the piano. But painfully slow...

Any Yamaha will do.

It depends how much you want to spend, but I started out on an old Yamaha PSR-27 49-key keyboard my mom had, then I bought my first 'good' keyboard, which was a Casio. I got a used Casio WK-3700 76-key keyboard at Guitar Center for $220. I think they're $350 or something brand new, I'm not sure. But the Casio WK series are very good for starters, as are the Yamaha PSR series.

Please don't get a Casio unless it's a fully weighted Privia. The keys just fall off in your hands.
