Most of the music style forums have, or at least have had at some point, a 'Forced Listening' thread. Do people think that a Forced Viewing thread could have a chance of working...? Would enough people participate? I don't want it to just be Kage and I throwing movies back and forth at each other...

I know that its a bit more work than just taking 5 mins to download an mp3, but if people are willing, I think it would be a much more worthwhile endevour...

So, people wanna try it?

I think the chances of it surviving are slim though because of the reasons you suggested but there's enough honest going movie fans here (Kage, AlienEater, Planewreq, VomitStainedCretin etc) that would be happy to keep it afloat. I'd give it a week or so grace period if someone takes dibs, being that would be long enough to procure a movie (renting, downloading), then watch it. If that week is up somebody else should be able to steal the turn.

also in the case where a movie is difficult to find is there some way we send .avi files or what not to each other easily?

is it against piracy rules on the forum to upload through www.yousendit.com or anything?

I think that it is... The recommender and the viewer can work it out over IM or what-not if need be though.
