Hello,
Was curious to as to what exercises i should do to get an operatic like voice (power and range)? What breathing exercises, etc.

I know there is Merkaba's thread, but i was wondering if maybe there is a small difference in what you are supposed to do. Alot of pop/rb/blues singers have powerful voices (groban, carey, aguilera, etc), but yet they dont have "operatic powerful" voices. I'm sure they voice train properly too. So what makes this difference...and how can i acquire it?
When i say opera i mean pavarotti, lanza, del monaco,etc...not popera.

Thanks again :chug: :p

The technique of singing opera isn't different from good, basic vocal technique, but there are tricks to getting a more classical sound - which primarily have to do with "placing" your voice. This is very difficult to explain in writing (although I do talk about it in Singing Secrets: http://voicestudio.kristinaseleshanko.com/SingingSecrets.htm and if you're really serious about getting this sound you're best off training with a teacher who specializes in opera.
