yeah man, i know what you're saying. i don't even like the song that much anymore since we started writing new stuff. it's annoying because most of the kids who like us, like us because of that stupid song, and can't offer any credible advice. i play guitar, and the song literally bores the crap out of me. our song structures have gotten way less predictable, and we're a lot better at our instruments. the song posted is a really safe and predictable song, but it gives you an idea of what we are without making your ears bleed. no one has offered any advice, and they either tell me what i know, or are just complete sarcastic dicks about it. odd that i would get such a response from a musician forum, but yeah dude, anything helps.

ah that board is useless, i didn't get much from it, which is why i brought it here. i do enjoy playing in a band, but what the hells the point if it isn't progressing. i wish we had some fresher tracks, that really is a terrible song to underline our "sound". oh well. we're still trying to find that sound, and i guess until we do, nothing we write is really worth hearing. this was somewhat of a huge waste of my time, but its nice having people bring the ego down to where it belongs. all was not lost haha, thanks for the feedback anyways man.

Alright bro. Bro basically it's just been done way too many times. I used to play in a band like that and i know how g0d4m boring the guitar is. Ask your band what they really want to sound like. Because people will like you for sounding like that, but you probably won't.

Even if you retained the same general sound and attempted to do something a bit different to back up the progressive tagline you've given yourself. The vocals really aren't that bad, its just again been done so many times before. This scene is ridiculously saturated and it pisses me off that soon no ones going to be able to do sh!t in it any more because of how many people are trying to do it. Props to the recording though, pretty good quality.

Bro, bro, bro. All I'm trying to say is soon playing that same music isn't going to cut it anymore because a change in the scene is drastically overdue. This stuffs kinda like the new age hair metal.

And in the end it just seems somewhat uninspired, like you're just playing what you've known to play rather than playing what you want to play, or what you felt. Something that you added your little bit of uniqueness to to make it sound different. Just consider not being the same. But also consider that you'll prob get more cred from cool haired kids this way.

Learn sweeps, kick out your vocalist, make your drummer learn blast beats, have cooler breakdowns, and you go from as I lay dying to new see you next tuesday. Not such a great improvement but its a start. You can then proceed to throw away your mosh caps buy red sox or appropriate baseball team here fitteds and take out most of the metal influence and become black my heart. From there you can speed it up a bit take out a few of the spinkick brutal breakdowns and you sound like every other hardcore band. Good luck on your musical journey.

-the name was inspired by the west memphis 3 events, but it's become to common to name bands off of historical events so we changed it around to make it less of a gimmick i suppose.

-the song is dull, but i don't know about no creativity at all. in our defense it was one of the first things we did together, and we weren't comfortable to take any risks or experiment outside the generic box at the time.

-there really isn't much variety in band profiles on myspace. considering the amount of users, i highly doubt it's possible to have a unique profile.

if you could show me 35 bands from your town that look/dress like us, sound as generic as us, have a random meaningless name, and have similar myspace profiles, then i'll quit music now and join the military.

I just searched myspace music within 50 miles of my area for the label metal and got over 100 pages of results. I searched for sounds like "Zao" and "As I Lay Dying" and got 3 pages total. So, that's at least 20-30 right there. I wonder what happens when we expand to all the other bands you are ripping off.

The K/W scene has quite a few good local bands, mind you we have a couple shitty generic ones like this, but for the most part southern ontario has a decent ska scene atleast.

And a decent punk rock scene, but that's not too hard to pull off.
