Im looking at synths in the mid range, I probably don't want to spend more than $700 at the max.

So far I've looked at the Korg X50, the roland sh-201, and the roland Juno D.

I didn't really like the sh-201 at all, and out of the other two I'm favoring the Korg.

I'm looking to experiment mostly, as I dont know how to even play piano really, and I need the orchestra patches to sound good, and patches similar to the type of stuff dream theater uses.

any other reccomendations, or comments on what I'm looking at?

edit: Ebay is an option.

This website might be helpful, it's where I got my synthesizer anyways.

I have a quick question. I'm having trouble recording music, because I don't know what to use. I've got a synthesizer (Alesis Micron 37) but I don't know what equipment I need in order to record songs.

Any suggestions?

what outputs does your keyboard have?

you could just plug in to your computers line-in with an adapter from the speaker output.

I know you could also buy a midi interface, but I dont know if you can record the sounds from the keyboard with it, or just use it as a midi controller.

Maybe check out the Alesis Fusion 6HD, I've heard a lot of good things about it. The X50 is also a good choice.
