i dont think there ever going to put an album out that will be a five mic like a jay or 50. it might just be my personal opinion but i find southern rap tallentless and dosnt relate to anything. its just about clothes and cars. i know lil wayne is from the south but hes just so effortless. he probablly smokes so much and drinks so much syrup his flow comes so naturally.
Flagjacket
06-17-2007, 01:19 PM
50 Cent has never gotten 5 mics from the Source, and likely never will. It doesn't really mean anything anymore anyways.
As far as the South goes, I like a lot of hip hop from all over the place, but it's just a preference thing. Plus Nik, you're from Brooklyn so you're supposed to hate everything else by default.

Weezy is tight. quit hatin'. Immortal Tech is ok in doses, but I would not consider him better, just more "controversial". As for Necro...c'mon...srsly?
Just because Weezy likes rapping about bling and being a hustler doesn't mean he's not a good rapper. Carter II is such a good album. You can't deny that.

yes, yes it does, but there is also certain movements involved with the act of getting crunk at a show of southern rap such as that of Lil' John. Throwin' 'bows n ****.
People get rowdy while crunk, thus getting crunk at a show would be getting crazy drunk and high while just causing a ruckus.

Not true. It really depends on who you go to see. When I saw Atmosphere there was a full band which made it awesome.
Oh yeah.. I've seen the Roots too with a full band and it was incredible.
But most hip hop acts don't do this. Of all the hip hop shows I've been to, the only ones I've enjoyed were Cypruss Hills, and even that was difficult, and mayhaps the Beastie Boys who were ok.
It also depends on the MC. I mean, some rappers have absolutely no stage presence which can kill a show. Others really know how to get the crowd into it.
Rappers that just stand there swaying back and forth usually suck.

Last night I was smoking a cigarette outside and some random guy came up to me and gave me a little flyer thing for shirts he made and they had the North Face logo but instead of saying the North Face they said The Ghostface. They actually look pretty cool.
