Ok guys, this thread is for posting your bands for feedback and stuff. Think of it as our own personal Audio Arena!
WHEN YOU POST YOUR BAND, post a link, name and a brief summary of what your style is, so we have something to expect.
I only want to see bands and brief comments, any spam will be deleted, if you want to know more about the person's band then take it the discussion thread or AIM, thanks!

This is my old band, Risk 26. We were like pop-punk with some heavier stuff. Our singer wasn't very good.

This is my solo stuff, the genres kind of range all over. The quality and the singing isn't too great, but maybe the songs are ok.

My Pop-punk/Indie/Emo Band - A Promising Year
We are a three piece band from Northern California (925 Baby hahaha)
We are currently recording our acoustic E.P. in time for christmas so boyfriends and girlfriends have something to "be alone together" with.
We are also working on our full band; full length record simultaniously (sp??). But that wont be out till about spring.
Go TO: www.purevolume.com/apromisingyear/ (On there we have one acoustic song which is entitled "Photographs In Black And White" & a track on there entitled "I Hope It's Not Too Late" Which is only the guitar and drums but vox will be added soon.

uh...here's my band. lol here (http://purevolume.com/theuprisingpa)
Ok guys,
Here is a link to the official website of my band called 'January, 26th 1976'.
The style is Pop/Rock, the band is French (they sing in English) and we started to play in France this summer after a 3 year 'training' period in a garage  .
We have a set of 15 tunes. 4 of them ('to believe', 'no anger, no joy', 'up and down' and 'game is over') are downloadable at this address:
http://www.26january1976.com/26january1976_2.htm (just clik on the orange square on the left 'album, écouter, télécharger' to have access to the MP3s demos ;) )
I'm sorry, the website is in french  but any feedback and stuff about the band (and the music of course) will be more than appreciated (particularly about the lyrics and the accent of our French singer!!! )
This is important because we are looking for a venue in England to play live (even for free....), that's why I really would like to have English speakers' opinions :D :D
I Look forward to reading your comments on the band,
Tx to those of you who give me any feedback :thumb: :thumb:
Cheers, Mathias.

we, (or i should say they, because notice, there is no bass in this song, because i wasnt with them when they recorded this) kinda have our own sound going. modest mouse-ish. no lyrics for the song at the moment, they just felt like putting something up. also notice how steve is a smartass at the beginning. you kinda have to turn the volume up to hear it. when we get better recordings, with bass and lyrics etc. ill post it up.enjoy :thumb:

Koopa's first trip to a real film studio with proper story board began on Thursday 9th December 2004.
They spent 16 hours filming.
There is more to be done with proper actors and special effects to complete. The video is based around the song "No Trend" which is on purevolume.
It is a story, as nearly all Koopa's songs are, about a father who leaves his wife and children for another woman.
The video and single are due for release on 14th March 2005.:D:thumb::D:thumb::D
More news on their web site and on their forum when they get back from playing in Liverpool. Should be Sunday.
Koopa are a pop/punk band with three members

The name of the band is Another Toy, it's just me a 17 yr old girl playing an acoustic guitar, just for fun mainly. If I had to label it I'd say it's more pop/emo if anything. I've completed a six sing EP entitled, "Post Script."
http://toya.dmusic.com
I was also the lead singer for a semi-political punk band, Half Start. Not much really to say about this except it was fun as hell and it made me appreicehite(sp?) the skill it takes to play the bass guitar lol.

Goober and the Ghost Chasers
01-22-2005, 03:31 AM
Ok my band is a joke band sorta, mainly due to the fact that we tried to combine metal with blues and it works to some extent but I dunno. We get played on community and uni radio around sydney a bit and we're a side project to my other band, The Goober. Its basically me playing bass and yelling and my friend playing guitar. Hes playing hard out lead blues and im just messing around with minor pentatonics and stuff in the back on bass. We dont have drums cause we dont feel like it and we know we're a bit different to anything else that ive seen on here. Anyway id really value anybodies comments...

Hello,
My name's Mista John, of the LA band CAKECUTTER.
We're a bunch of freaks that play loud, double-drummer fueled rock & roll.
With us, it's all about playing live. Bands shouldn't suck when they hit the stage, but unfortunately, most bands do, especially in LA.
We've recorded our debut EP with the lengendary GEZA-X (Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, The Germs, Primus, Meredith Brooks (!), he's a freak too, so it fit our sound.
You may have heard some of our stuff in Jackass, the Movie (The Cube-Truck Disco segment) or on Wild Boys (featuring Steve-O and Chris "Party Boy" Pontius on MTV). We do a lot of the drum cues on the show, and they have also used a few of our tunes...
Anyway, you can check our stuff out at www.cakecutter.de and www.myspace.com/cakecutter
We've toured over to Europe and would love to come to Australia. Of course this means finding a label or business to partner with.
Question: Are there cool indie labels that you know of? post a reply with whom you think are the best/coolest. With us it is not about the majors, we're too freaky for them. We just want to find a company that believes in it's artists, treats them fairly and doesn't bs. We have our passport and want to rock Down Under.
Any replies are appreciated, you can email us direct at cakecutter2001@yahoo.com

Our band name is Missing Fingers and we play pretty much straight rock. People say we sound like old Green Day (the Dookie days) but our newer stuff is more influenced by AC/ DC and Led Zeppelin. Check out our tunes.

I'm the drummer for a pop-punk band called Hydraulic Sandwich, based out of Greenfield, MA. We're all still in high school... two of us are 16 (our singer and I), and two of us are 18 (guitarist and bassist). We've been together for about 3 years, but we just got a brand new female lead singer. You can check out our website at http://hydraulicsandwich.com. Unfortunately we've only had the chance to record one really good song with our new lineup, but we're really happy with it, especially since it was done completely in our basement practice room over the span of two weeks. You can hear that, as well as two acoustic songs with our new singer and at least 10 of our older songs with our old singer, at our PureVolume site - http://purevolume.com/hydraulicsandwich
If you like our sound, it'd be cool if you posted something in our guestbook... thanks!

I'm in a pop punk band called Living Out of Habit from Suffolk, Virginia. We're all into hardcore and punk, but we like pop punk too, so we kinda fused it together to make one behemoth of a ****ty band! We're all around the 15-16 year old mark, so we're pretty proud of the stuff we're playing at at a fairly young age. If you're into Chiodos, Thrice, or newer Hopesfall you might like our stuff. Anyways we recorded an acoustic cover of The Bouncing Souls "Anchors Aweigh" and a video of one of our songs, so you can listen to those at these websites:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=H_HPggh2C1E

Also, in the video the sound is a little bit ahead of the movement. Cheap cameras suck.

I'm actually the vocalist and the lead guitarist! But, yeah in the video, we used cd speakers and for the acoustic song we used a ****ty guitar amp for the vocals. We're very poor, so we can't afford a pa system.haha. We're actually in the process of saving 180 dollars to record right now. So far we have $10!

It's not too bad. The vocals remind me of Weird Al Yanchovic tbh. You have a good sound, just work on the vocals some more. Too nasally/raspy vocalwise so that's my only con. 7/10 I'd say.

Jeremy (Guitar/songwriter extrordinare) and Joey (Old bass player/contributing with lyrics) wrote some songs together and decided to ask friend Rudy (Mediocore drummer/horrible) to play drums with them in late December of 2003. They wrote 6 solid songs and played there first show in late January. The band progressed to a solid set with good songs, high energy live performances, and a new bass player Luke (Very good metal bass/guitar). After playing for some time with Luke things did not work out. The band moved on, and tried out other bassists. They then brought in Easton, but after a while it became clear that Easton did not want to put the effort in to bieng a serious band the band gladly parted ways with him. Which brings along newcomer Tommy, who is the brother of first player Joey. Tommy an excellent bassist and has already contributed more then most bass players did when he stepped onboard. Be sure to support some great unsigned talent. Playing big shows and small ones every one is different and just as fun, we are definatly a band to see. Look for us to play your local venue, school, or house party as we come up with better songs and better times. The demo titled "Walking The Plank" is really no longer around but if you ask member of the band they might be able to find one for you. A new EP which is titled "Going Nowhere" is now available online, or in there local towns record shop. Some songs are on the page right now. come support the only band out there that is still and always will be fast fun music!

Good quality recording on "A Summer I'd Rather...", the guitar work was pretty decent, maybe a little too wanked in some parts. I didn't really like the vocals. It sounds too fake, the vocalist needs to work on that. It sounds like he's trying too hard to sound like Tom DeLonge, he needs to sound like himself when he sings, come up with a different way to approach on his singing. Some parts of the song it sounded like you guys may have started to not keep up with each other, but that was only a very slight thing I noticed. Other than that nice job on that song.
"Paint a Picture" didn't have as good quality, but you can't really help what you are working with I guess. I didn't like how when the vocals came in, it overpowered everything else. At one point it sounded like the singer got really close up to the mic and started moaning while he was singing. All I had a problem with was the singer needs to back off some.
"I Promise", woah, I like the guitar work a lot. Again, singer needs to back off. I liked the clapping part. There was nice variety in this song. Vocals got better once into the middle of the song, then at points he got louder then quiet then louder then quiet, etc. It would sound a lot better if he maybe kept the same volume. Ouch on the way he yelled "I PROMISE!" but it was cool when it echoed. Good song though.
You guys are pretty good, and if you just get the vocalist to work on his singing a bit more, you'd sound even better. It's not that he sucks at singing, its just keeping the same volume and sound throughout. I'd say 6 to 7/10, just keep practicing and keep up the nice work. :thumb:
EDIT: I'll listen to yours in a little bit, Misanthropic.

It isn't horrible quality. I really like the sound. Kind of reminds me of Leftover Crack. Nice vocals. There were some points the guitars kind of overpowered the vocals (on the second song) but overall really good job. 8/10 imo, nothing wrong with it. :)
Maybe you should consider changing the band name lol.

Thanks man, appreciate it. The recordings were made by placing a single mic in the center of the practice space, so hence the quality. First recordings with full line-up, been playing together since january, never played a gig.. :(

Alright, people
http://www.myspace.com/ourfangsourpistols
We are Our Fangs, Our Pistols from Portland, Oregon.
We're a post-hardcore band that's been running pretty strongly since September of '06. So far, in 2007 alone, we've had over a dozen shows. Our original sound was in the style of Atreyu and From First To Last, but as of lately, the sound has been moving closer to Chiodos and The Devil Wears Prada. We just picked up a new keyboardist and will be incorporating him into our work very very soon. We have recently won two different battles, and plan on continuing to do so.
I personally think that our best songs that we have up are Gorillas On Fire and What You Said
i like it
sounds the same as a shitload of other bands though but meh

We lost out drummer, got a new one and came back with a new name. I hated the old one really. But ya we are a bit different again, 'bad dream' and 'cry baby' are really where we are at with our sound at the moment. Both really good songs i think, been told its some of the best UK poppunk about at the moment which is a huge complement given there's some amazing bands around at the moment.
Anyways, go check us out if you have some free time... we anit that bad, i promise.

yeah, bayside is his favorite band :smash:
Final outcome doesnt really play anymore though, unless we can find a bass player who is comitted enough. And yeah, final outcome is probably better because we've been playing for way longer, and the singer has had vocal training, where in defend anything, I just kinda try and sing..
