Sadly since my recording "equipment" is so crude, my lack of time, and the hectic situation of finals week I could only record myself without the rest of the band. I definitely ****ed up a few times, but its alright. I have a live version of this which was video taped, but I'm still waiting on the guy who filmed it to put it up on youtube.
Anyways, let me know if you like the song. Imagine a pretty high energy drummer behind it and one guitar playing along but doing his own thing.

BTW, let me know if this is the wrong forum for this.

a comment or two would be nice
definitely would like to hear it in context. although by imagining the drums i can "hear" some energy for sure. a bit hard to enjoy as is, but yeah, i bet it's sweet with accompaniment. some reverb would help it as well.

Not bad, could use some work though. Might be a good idea to do something like... start another riff of the song on a different note, or have a choppy riff so there isnt allllways a note being played/rung out, maybe have a little break in the song somewhere, or have a 1 measure breakdown between the riffs as a sort of pre chorus. And try to make both or all of the notes your playing in a diad or chord ring out at the same volume, one of the notes you play seems to be overpowering the other. Probably could use a slight technique adjustment.
Just being honest. It does have potential though!

great tips, thanks! I usually play with the band so we play off eachother and theres a lot more variation. Its hard to just play by yourself without a beat or anything to work with.

Yeah it very rarely feels or sounds right playing a bassline that you normally play with a band, without a band.
