Right i found a snare in a pawn shop labelled as an evans snare drum.

Its black oyster pearl with chrome hardware, looks to be around 14x5. The badge i saw and the 4 and 6 maple logo on it.

The head was a gold colour with the label "Evans MX Gold" on it.

Is this a DeeDub or is it in fact an evans? They're asking £200 for it, how much is it worth d'ya reckon?

do the lugs have that blatant DW look to them?

Im not sure about the snare but I know that head is a discontinued evans head. Apparently its very good

The lugs are DeeDub and the badge is the one from maple shelled DW snares.

I assumed DW released the evans snare but a friend who builds drums said that the MX Gold is a marching head.

well, if the lugs look DW, and the badging indicates DW....

is it in good repair? go to the store, and check the bearing edges and make sure the shell is round and true. if it is, by all means, buy it up.

The MX Gold is indeed a marching head. I think I've seen a picture of Tomas Haake using one of those on his snare.

i don't think it's an evans snare at all, just a DW with an evans head...

yup its a DW with an evans head. The MX is a marching snare head that can be tightned at very high tunings and its hella strong. Thomas Haake uses one on his main snare.

Thank you for your completely pointless spamming of this thread.

You were looking to see if the drum was legit DW or not......because I know for a fact the early pacifics looked very close to DW drums. They had the same lugs and were offered in that wrap....

The old pacifics didnt have re-rings....Dw snares have re-rings....

So obviously you are being an ignorant moron , nothings really changed phil?

You point out where i asked if it was a genuine DW.

You fail at comprehension 101.

So obviously you are being an up-your-own-arse retard, nothings really changed eh dickwad?

Again, you fail at comprehension.

I already knew it was a DW. What i asked was wether it was a Limited Edition evans snare or not.

You wanna act like an arsehole all the time? Expect to get treated as one.

Hmm

Is it a deedub or an evans.

Comprehension.

Deedub = DW.

or

Evans = Evans.

You did not indicate Evans made by DW , no. You didn't use the word "limited edition" , no.

Obviously my post rolled over before I saw replies...

Do yourself a favour.
Learn some manners.
Learn some basic comprehension.

Phil, quit while you're ahead. White Riot is making complete sense, and was honestly being helpful. You're just arguing for the sake of it.

If you knew anything about DW you'd know that the "4 and 6 maple" logo is a DW logo for its snares.

So yes, telling me to look for re-rings was always going to be helpful.

Throwing insults around was always gonna be helpful. Interesting how you throw a tantrum and start insulting me, yet when i retort, you have a tantrum.
